Close Shave

One of the fabulous things about living in a small town, is that you know all the small town people. If you are an extrovert like myself that means you know a lot of business owners too and you are not above asking favors of them. This happens to be true of Moe's Barber Shop in Vancouver. I asked Carrie, the owner to let me recreate a pin-up cartoon I came across and with the help of photographer Jeff Mawer we made the cartoon come to life. Toma was my co-super-model of the day, and I think he pulled off the perverted barber look quite well.

Here is the original image I found for reference and inspiration of this shoot.

I am so happy this photo shoot came together so well, and I am thankful for everyone who helped pull this off!

Coming Home A Winner

I am back from our anniversary vacation, and still in vacation mode. I can't muster up the energy to blog or work. I drank a pot of coffee today so I could bring you the results of weeks of top secret planning. Over the past weekend we attended Jake The Alligator Man's 4th Annual 75th Birthday (say that three times fast!)
Every year this event is held in downtown Long Beach, WA and every year there is a big car show, live music, and of course, a pin-up contest. I entered this pin-up contest, but I brought a secret weapon... another (more)Beautiful lady! Seeing as Jake is a half-man half-alligator side show freak, I figure, we too should be side-show oddities. Thus, the Siamese Twins, Olga and Elsa were born!
We made this entire costume for about $25 and it was loosely based off 666 Photography's Dia De Los Muertos Set. Very Loosely. But after a few nights of white wine, flowers, ribbons, and injuries, the costume was finished. All the pain and late nights were worth it in the end, because we walked away winners, The Bride(s) Of Jake!
We won a gift basket filled with many lovely treasures! The greatest prize at all was the 2 night stay to the Breakers Hotel in Long Beach. I see a siamese ladies night hotel party in my future!
We also go some stunning GothFox Pasties, and several piece of Lucky Cupcake clips and jewelry. There were lots of people and old friends at the event, even Team Jessup made an appearance and asked that we take a snap with their cutie-pie son.
We caused quite a stire on the Penninsula, because even the local paper wrote about Olga and Elsa! Read about it in the Chinook Observer. I know there are several more pictures that will surface in the coming days, but I thought I would give you guys the first glimpse of our winners suit.

I have more re-capping to do about our weekend at the coast, and our visits to Astoria to sip craft beers with Team Jessup.... But that will have to wait til tomorrow.

Pin-Up Under-Pants!

I have a thing for new knickers. Seriously, what girl doesn't? Acquiring vintage undies is quite hard, so I am mighty thankful there are so many great repros. You might remember I posted a while back about "french knickers" and today I would like to share the 50s pin-up knickers.

There are several places on-line to find them. Bernie Dexter models them for BabyGirlBoutique Here for $18.95/pr:

I found these, and recently bought a few pairs. Despite the picture quality, these knickers are SUPER cute and look wonderful in black. They are nice and comfy and complete the vintage ensemble well. You can buy them Here for $6.00/pr

Secrets in lace also carry a lovely bunch of knickers, among other great bullet bras, garters, and stockings! This cute pair can be found here for $19.00/pr

Cameo Intimates has a leopard print version, that is cute, but pricey for a pair of undies. Never the less, they are wonderful for the animal print loving vixens out there. You can get them Here for $39.00/pr

And for you darling dames across the sea from me, Pandora's Choice also offers nylon sheer panties. They can be purchased here for £18.50/pr

All are quite adorable. All have a similar look. My personal pick is the Nancy King nylon knickers for $6.00, but all are wonderful choices. Go get some new pants!
