I have a thing for new knickers. Seriously, what girl doesn't? Acquiring vintage undies is quite hard, so I am mighty thankful there are so many great repros. You might remember I posted a while back about "french knickers" and today I would like to share the 50s pin-up knickers.
There are several places on-line to find them. Bernie Dexter models them for BabyGirlBoutique Here for $18.95/pr:
I found these, and recently bought a few pairs. Despite the picture quality, these knickers are SUPER cute and look wonderful in black. They are nice and comfy and complete the vintage ensemble well. You can buy them Here for $6.00/pr
Secrets in lace also carry a lovely bunch of knickers, among other great bullet bras, garters, and stockings! This cute pair can be found here for $19.00/pr
Cameo Intimates has a leopard print version, that is cute, but pricey for a pair of undies. Never the less, they are wonderful for the animal print loving vixens out there. You can get them Here for $39.00/pr
And for you darling dames across the sea from me, Pandora's Choice also offers nylon sheer panties. They can be purchased here for £18.50/pr
All are quite adorable. All have a similar look. My personal pick is the Nancy King nylon knickers for $6.00, but all are wonderful choices. Go get some new pants!

Look at those Knickers!
I am working on little lists of things that are "Must Haves" in my wardrobe once my income comes out of the negative. I am feeling quite hopeful that I will have money again soon, as my Etsy Shop has picked up business lately!
On my list of must-haves are 30s style Tap Pants, or French Knickers. I love the delicate femininity of this style undies. The are often made of silk or satin, and have a beautiful drape. Plus, they work wonderfully over girdles/garter belts, which is always a plus!
There is a great little blog post on the history of tap pants @ Vintage Clothiers if you are interested in learning a bit more.
(Image stolen from Dorothea's Closet.)I am sad to say, after much scouring the interwebs, there are not very many authentic reproduction styles either.
But, of course I will share with you what I *did* find, so that you too can own a pair of darling reproduction knickers.
First on my list, is from Pandora's Choice. By the way, I absolutely love this website for great repro lingerie styles, including many items from What Katie Did!
On the subject of Tap Pants, they have my favorite pick in reproductions so far:
Black Silk Delacroix French Knickers £25.50But wait! they also have them in Ivory!
Like these that have an extremely authentic and beautiful look:
Black Out French Knickers £25.00
Harlow Sheer French Knickers £30.00My favorites, are the satin knickers, they look like they would feel a-m-a-z-i-n-g on!
They also have a less expensive Poly-Blend version as well!

Lucky Score of the Week!
I may have mentioned before there is a weird vintage shop in my town that is like drug-land crazy. BUT! The lady who owns it loves me for some odd reason, and calls me a celebrity (She said I am famous around here? what?)
Well I stopped in to scour the place for something I could save from Vintage Hell. As I was leaving I spotted a cool Corselette sitting in a dark room. I really thought it was like a modern Fredricks or Victoria Secret type deal, but it looked vintage inspired so I grabbed it. I examine it and low and behold, it has a 1950s "Warner Originals" label in it!!
With much excitement I hurry to counter to pay, and she says $50. I tell her I dont have that much, so she drops it to $20, and I had to trade a 1950s dress in too.
So for $20.00 I now own a beauitful Warner Original Corselette! The only others I have been able to find online are the shorter Merry Widow styles and they are going for $150! This one that sold from DollHouse Bettie, is similar.
Here is mine (in a terrible picture, darn camera!)
I can't believe how lucky I was to get this, in such amazing condition! Normally she has drastically overpriced vintage with holes and stains, but this my friends, is a true gem.
Look forward to seeing it in an up and coming photoshoot!
