In the Jailhouse Now

This weekend I got to see a very fantabulous production of O Brother Where Art Thou? The
show was put on the by the Space Art Collective of Vancouver, WA and was entirely made up of marionette puppets. The soundtrack was played entirely by a live band in the loft of the building. The whole showing was hilarious, and the actors were quite quick with their improvisational wit.

I am sad to say the show has finished its run, but look forward to the next show they choose to adapt to puppetry.






I forgot all about taking my outfit picture that night, so this is the only image I have of me. Jesse took a picture of me trying not to fall to my death in the loft/catwalk area where the puppeteers did their magic.

I got this short video of the band playing so you can hear how amazing it was. The men and women who performed the soundtrack were truly amazing, and it was a night well spent. Glad I can say I got to see it!

Painting the Town

Saturday night I hit the town with my Fella. We went to the cinema, with some friends and their family. We may or may not have snuck in a bit of wine and had ourselves a wonderful time, acting like kids again! Don't worry, we stayed quite during the movie to please our surrounding neighbors.

I wore my favorite circle skirt, and my great grandmother's fur-collar cardigan. The crowning jewel on my outfit though, the rhinestone Henry Waters' heels from the 50s. I bought them last year at the Urban Eccentric, and they are my most favorite uncomfortable shoes to take out!

We saw, Sherlock Holmes and as you can imagine we loved it! Very visually stimulating with a half decent plot. And if you can allow me the liberty of going all teenage girl on you.... Jude Law was simply dreamy, just dreamy.
I rather liked Rachel McAdams sinister role in the movie, and of course her dresses also! At this point I am sure you have all seen it any how, but I had a good time out of the house.
Alas, it is monday again and the holidays have all ended and I must return to the daily grind. Back again tomorrow friends!

colors of spring.

Today was so bright and light in my house, I decided to put up the back drop and shoot some dress I have waiting to be sold.

My husbands camera is total rubbish, so its hard to get a decent shot, but some turned out quite fun.
I have been adding stuff to my ETSY all morning. I still have a stack of dresses waiting to be listed.


Yesterday was my daughters very first birthday, so I have been so busy.
I baked 4 cakes for the party, and have been doing the dishes ever since, so it felt great to get up and get some
frocks listed today.

This pink dress is one of my favorites I nabbed at a sale the other day. I was very saddened when it was about 2 inches too big in the bust and waist.
Oh well, someone with a 28 inch waist will love it, nearly as much as I did.
I had a blast using all sorts of props for the shoot. I can't wait to be able to afford to buy my camera again (stolen!) Once I have my camera, the picture quality will improve 10 fold.

I watched the saddest movie the other night called, Black Book.
Carice Van Houten is stunning in the movie, showcasing stellar hair-dos and decadent duds.
The story line, is melancholy and tragic. It portrays a different view on WWII which was rather interesting.
I sometimes forget about other parties in the war. We here in the states spend so much time learning US history we seldom get a glimpse of history from other counties.
If you can handle a heart-wreching flick I highly recommend Black Book.

Silk Worm

I know for a fact this has been up and down the blog-o-sphere. But I have 2 kids, and seldom leave my house, so we just now went to the theater to see "WATCHMEN"
The movie was good, Tim read the "graphic novel" so he was a bit more into it than I was. The movie was quite visually stimulating, if you can ignore the massive amounts of male nudity. Ha!
I got all dressed up, and wore my new dress I got at the Urban Eccentric the other day.
Its darling, and I will post a better picture of the whole thing soon.
My hair, magically did not curl last night, so I had these olast minute pin-curls in my hair hoping to save it.
I think the end result worked out rather nicely.
And look at that perfect bang roll?!?! I cant believe that.
We grabbed some dinner, and everyone I walked by made comments about Old Hollywood. That is always so nice to hear.



Ok, Back to the movie.
Oh-Em-Gee. Silk Spectre. I know, I know, everyone has blogged about it.
But how darling, how exquisite.
I think, nay, I know I can re-create that hair do when my hair gets longer, and I plan to do it!
Her finger nails, her lip-stick, her sassy attitude. Fantastic! She was hands down my favorite part of the movie.
Silk Spectre II did nothing for me. I think the gratuitous sex scene killed her character for me. bleh.
