Wow, I have disappeared here in blog land. It was a busy weekend, that turned into a sick week. So here I am finally able to update.
Friday night were through our Fashion Show event to raise money for charity, it went off seamlessly and we raised nearly $1000 for children's cancer fund! Not to bad for Vancouver, WA that is for sure!
What an awful picture of me! I hosted the night and was running around like a lunatic to make sure everything went to plan..by the time the pictures were taken at the end of the night, I looked like total rubbish.
Here is a shot of me before we left for the event, looking a bit more put together:After waking up the next morning and hanging with my kids, I headed to Salon 77 in Portland, OR to have my hair colored for an AMAZING photoshoot with Vorpal Images. (you will have to wait to see this shoot!) Salon 77 is an adorable salon in the basement of an old bulding in the pearl district. So neat!
Not to scare you, but here is a blurry sneak peak at my new color:Brown. I am a brunette. I am not sure how much I love it yet, its growing on me, but its so... brunette. Anyway, the color job itself is beautiful. I will keep it for a while and see where it takes me.
Sunday was the EPIC shoot with Vorpal, and I woke up sick. I wore a corset for most of the day, whilst hacking and coughing. I am sure the pictures will look amazing, but the day kicked my butt. Monday morning I woke up worse than the day before and slept nearly the whole day away.
I am just now slowly starting to feel better.. a nice soak in the tub may be all that I need today...

Insanely Busy, That's Me!
This weekend was such a whirlwind, I can barely remember parts. I had a wedding, a benefit show, a impromptu trip to the desert, and somewhere in there I was able to fit in a few hours of sleep.
The wedding went well, I got to wear a fancy Little Black Dress from the 50s, and some funky rhinestone jewels. After the wedding we headed to a benefit show in Vancouver at the BRICKHOUSE. A bunch of rockabilly bands played, and there were some amazing outfits floating around the room. (and some hideous trainwrecks, but hey! let's not judge.)
My friend Jessie was able to get a few snaps of me, being silly. Sadly this is all I have to document my amazing LBD and great hair-do.
I don't even know this guy, but we were having a Mustache War. I won, clearly!
Me, and the ladies. Oh, and my delicious Bloody Mary!Labels: events, shows, silly, vintage hair

Panic at the Disco, er, I mean wedding!
Tim's cousin is getting married in just over a week. Which, would not normally be that big of a deal, except I *just* found out, that the wedding is at this grand Victorian mansion, and there is to be formal dining and dancing afterward. Yes my friends, its to be a black tie sort of event.
I do not, repeat, do not own anything even remotely appropriate for such an affair.
I have spent the day on Ebay(EW!) hoping to catch a decent deal on a 30s style dress to wear ( so I can wear my lovely topper...) I did find one dress, a 30s black cocktail dress, but alas it was about 6" to big in the bust region.
I wish there was some miracle that would make a really inexpensive formal dress land in my lap.
I am sort of hunting for this silhouette:

Race Day
A while ago I was asked to do an event that I was really unsure about. It was for Nascar (american stock car racing) which I despise. I was asked to be an umbrella girl, whi h is a girl, wearing next to nothing, holding an umbrella. I was not interested, to say the least.
Upon finding out we were to be in retro/vintage attire, and fully clothed, I agreed to participate. It was fun, I got to drink beer, meet racers, get my picture taken by hundreds of people, and I got paid to do it all!
I was just finally give some of the pictures take by Amy Hall and here are a few that have me in them, wearing my favorite summer dress!
