I have been thinking about the cloche hat a lot lately. Solanah has been looking for one for ages, and gosh dang it, she deserves one! I have seen her in one and let me tell you, it is outrageously flattering on her. I don't know if I could pull off the look, but Solanah was made to wear a cloche.
And maybe you are too? I know finding authentic vintage ones can be hard and costly (thus why Solanah has been looking for so long.) So I thought I would turn to a more modern approach and found this lovely dame on Etsy.
Handmade Creations By Gail. Sounds plain enough, but wait til you see what her creations are..
Most of her amazing Cloche Hats are between $55-75, and are to die for. I can't even begin to pick a favorite so here is a photo sampling of a few of them.
As you can see Gail has a lovely array of toppings, all appear to be one of a kind, so you can really be unique. I hope that you adore these hats as much as me. I also hope Solanah finds her long lost perfect cloche to adorn her head.
And for a little fun, lets all look at my adorable daughter sporting her knitted cloche style hat for winter:

Great post! I love that peacock one, really cute. I have a few 60s cloches that are large so they go over my ears, which works pretty well. I think cloches look best on people with bobs or short hair, when mine was long they looked awful, I'm glad I kept them now!
I have a book on cd from the 20s about making cloches we should look at, it might be a great way to use vintage fabric scraps!
These are amazing and your daughter is adorable! Great post! Have a great Halloween! Kori xoxo
So gorgeous, this vintage inspired collection! Fabulous post, perfect for fall.
...you inspired me (along with Halloween) to wear my favorite cloche style hat! I adore the ones you highlighted, too - thanks!
these ARE lovely (and your sweet daughter is so gorgeous in hers)!
One of the things I am liking about the whole 80s fads coming back, is that it also means the 60s and 40s fads that some of the 80s fashion was stolen from is making a comeback. For example, Target has expanded their hat section. Sure, it's not authentic. But, I tried on one of cloches earlier this last week... I'm definetly going to be getting one sometime this week when I get paid. :)
I'm sure other stores are hopping on this bandwagon, and possibly with higher quality styles.
Cloche hats are so beautiful!(But I agree with Solanah that it looks better on people with short hair) And your daugther is lovely <3
