Monday Thrift Trip..

I met up with darling Solanah yesterday for some thrifting and I was spoiled with good luck and gifts. I have more to post on this subject, but I am heading out so here is a quick run down of this snap shot!

1. my "40s" style oxford heels!!!!!!! These have been on my wishlist for months, and I scored them for $10! What a great deal.
2. Pink 30s Jantzen skirt, a gift from Solanah. How nice of her? Very!
3. A full sized suitcase I got in central Oregon for $2.00 and it matches my set.

I like when life works out in my favor. This has been one of those "it's the little things" moments!

The skirt.

The black, 6 gore skirt, I have found.
I purchased it not even 30 seconds ago, for slightly more than I like to pay for such things, but its a wardrobe MUST HAVE.
It was even my size, and the only one I could find on the internet. It must have been fate.

I am so excited and cant wait for it to get here!
I will post pictures when I get it.

Building Blocks

I have a small list of things I am on the hunt for, and constantly hope I run into. I seldom do, but sometimes I find a gem on the list and get to mark it off.
One item on my list is a decent, plain old black skirt.
This sounds like an easy task, but apparently I am more picky than I should be.
I really want a black skirt, from the 40s, that has an a-line shape to it with some gores.
something like this number from So Vintage Patterns:

If you have seen one, have one, selling one with a size 26" waist, I want it.
NAY! I need it.
The material does not matter, though Gabardine would be ideal.
I feel like I could have a pretty rounded vintage wardrobe, if only I had this elusive skirt!
