VLOG: Victory Rolls Tutorial

It has been asked, and asked, and then asked again... So I have finally filmed up a basic "how-to victory rolls" video for you all. Sorry as I am sure its a little scatter brained and I have a hard time articulating. But V rolls are very simple, and just need some practice. So, watch the video and then do these over, and over and over again!

If this was no thorough enough (which I am sure it's not...) there are a few other GREAT tutorials on youtube. Like this one from My Little Rockabilly and this one, from, well I don't know who did it.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask or email. I know I am space cadet and probably skipped over a simple step you need. I will be back with a Vlog on eyebrow shaping next week, followed by my basic daily make-up. If there are any other videos you would like to see, let me know!

Thank you! This was super helpful. Every other tutorial I've watched has you place the rolls more toward the top of your head, I think that's where I always screw up...I have way too much hair for that.

you do a really good vlog! a lot of people make me feel awkward just watching them because you can tell how comfortable they are! you are so natural! i can't wait for the next videos!

I love it :) The hair looks great, less cartoony or costumey than some other tutorials show, or maybe I just want my hair to be a bit more toned down when i'm out and about in public too!

Just found your blog- its fabulous and you do make me laugh (in a good way obviously!!) May try victory rolls for my birthday party this month so great to see this video... especially as my hair is also dead straight and I have a fringe (bangs) too so helpful to see.

This is definitely one of the better Victory Roll tutorials! :) I've been having a devil of a time getting mine right of late, but I think it's because my hair is in need of a chop more than anything else. ;) lol. I'm itching to try the back-roll you showed--I've done something similar, but not so neat or compact!

If only it didn't involve a curling iron. That's my worst enemy. :( I am almost 22 and have yet to master the stupid thing. Can it be done with foam rollers??? I can do foam rollers.

Okay, I watched the video clip again and I'm becoming more confidant that I can do this. If all I have to do it give the ends a kink. I'm definitely loving the way the hair is pinned in the back. I think I will be doing that a lot in the future.

Hay RIGHT ON for using a curling iron to help out (no other victory roll tutorials or vintage hair tutorials I've seen have suggested this. I'm stunned.) & I love your down-to-earth instructional style!
* = )
I only wish the lighting were a teeeeeny bit brighter for more detail...
Oh!!
And thanks especially for showing a suggestion for what to do with the back of the hairstyle, too!! Awesome!

Sean! you can most definitely do this with foam rollers. just pre-curl with the rollers the night before to give your hair some body!!!! :)

Awesome tutorial, you make it look so easy! My hair is still kinda layered but I shall give it a try and see if it co-operates! :)

Hahah I loved this! Great tutorial. I like how you did the back roll too, I'm going to give that a go. I usually use a rat and now my hair is pretty long it makes for one pretty massive roll..!

Also my goodness aren't you beautiful! Cheekbones!
