A Little Lighter.

This blog post had so many titles, none of them really fitting but each perfect in their own way. Honestly, I suppose 'The Vintage Elitist: or How I Learned To Stop Giving a Crap and Love the Imperfections' is quite a mouth full for such a short post. In light of my last post, I figure some gratuitous shoe porn is in fact 'a Little Lighter' of a subject.
So bringing us to a possible third title, I share with you 'The Best Christmas Present Ever.' My Leopard print Bordello shoes.

It took me a little over 24 hours to get the hang of walking in them and about 3 days to be accepting of the fact that they are not vintage, do not look vintage, and will never be authentic. Once I got over those hurdles, I fell madly in love with how ridiculous they are and have worn them nearly every day since I got them.
In general I do not wear vintage shoes, but always try to purchase shoes that are at least styled after shoes of yesteryear. These are the exception, and I would and should own them in every color under the sun.

So there you have it, a lighter post about my vintage imperfectionism and a very fabulous Christmas present.

ALSO: The prizewinner of the Shabby Apple giveaway never claimed her prize, I will be re-drawing tomorrow morning, unless I hear from her sooner.

Bordello makes great shoes! I bought a pair of the Polly's of California Bordello's and they are just as comfy as the Betsey Johnson Polly's.

It's not realistic to wear all vintage, all the time. Plus with shoes like that, who would want to!? They're amazing! :D

I stopped trying to fit any kind of mould a while ago. I love vintage, but that doesn't mean I can't love new things too. It is all design and art and fashion, so why should I have to choose? The shoes are wunderbar :)

ah! the shoes are gorgeous. also: where did you get your stockings? i've been trying out various cuban foot ones from amazon and the like but i have yet to find a pair that i really love.

The stockings I am wearing are these: http://www.babygirlboutique.com/cuban-stockings.html
not 100% authentic.. but they get the point across, and they have lasted quite a while. Which is good cuz I am very hard on stockings and cry every time I run a good vintage pair.

I love these shoes! As much as I like getting shoes that "go" with my vintage style, I also have a huge weakness for shoes in general, which means a lot of more modern styles creep into my closet too. I've been eying leopard print heels for a bit and these are fantastic!

thanks, lovely lady! i'm in the same boat. i tend to be able to wear a pair once or twice and then they're done, because i generally walk into something and simultaneously give myself a nasty bruise and rip a giant hole in them.

These shoes...(breathtaking *gasp*)although not vintage, many pin ups were drawn with outrageously tall heels...
I always ask myself, had this (non vintage item) been available in yesteryear, would the ladies have approved? Yes, yes indeed
