We have arrived at our second edition of show and tell! This time I wish to share with you a powder compact I bought while on my second anniversary with my dear sweet fella. We stayed at our family beach cabin for our anniversary, as you may remember from this post. While we were there, we did as we always do at the beach, antique shop! We popped into a little antique shop, with big antique prices and I spotted this darling compact.
Just this week, I finally got around to emptying it to fill it with my own personal facial powder. When I took the metal screen off, I notice the engraving inside. I was very pleased that this compact had a date of 1924, and was made in Canada. What a fun historical tidbit, I had all along. Notice the cute ladies wearing cloche hats on the outside.
Well, now its your turn post a link in the comments to a picture of your compact!

Oh this is so fun! I found and old compact in my grandmother's vanity table years after she passed away. We were packing it up for my cousin (which I regret giving it to her as I was the one who inherited it). I found it tucked away in a hidden drawer. I kept it and it is one of my favorite possessions that I have from her.
Hehehe I love the little ghost in the compact!
Gracious...what a great find! I always like thinking about who else might have used things like this...what was their story and who did they powder their nose for?
I hope it's all right to ask this, but would you be all right with including me in your blogroll? No worries if you don't, of course. I just thought I'd ask. :-)
can you tell me where you found powwder refils for it?
I have a gorgeous vintage compact from the grandma, yet modern refils are far too thick to fit inside.
