In Portland, OR there is a strange phenomenon that takes place every last thursday of the month, aptly named Last Thursday. It's mean to be a bit of an art walk, but I use that term very loosely. Over the years this event has slowly turned into a shitstorm of hippies, half naked people, circus performers, and general what the fuckery. Regardless, our delightful friend's Matt and Claire offered up their house right on the main drag for Toma to attempt selling art. No art was sold, massive tom foolery was witnessed, and a supreme nerf war was raged. It was a pretty alright night, that was topped off with a fabulous chinese food potluck.
I tied my hair in a bow on the top of my head, with help form this lovely youtube video, and wore the only asian inspired dress I own. I picked up that 50s mandarin dress at a yard sale for $1.00 last summer and it fit like a glove.
I have been playing around with shooting my digital camera through the view finder of my brownie (this idea was pilfered from local photographers Luke Olsen and Jeff Mawer) to achieve weird old style images. I am still working out the kinks on mine and need to build a shade from light glare, but the pictures are still pretty cool.
