City Outings

All week we have been making the trek across the bridge and applicable state lines to patronize establishments in the Big City. Today we toted along the children, and splurged on pizza by the slice in a cafe that played the entire discography of the Murder City Devils. I wore a sundress, but here in the northwest, even in summer, we have no sun. Don't get me wrong, I feel for you guys out there with your record heat wave and horrid humidity. But the honest to God truth is, this is our third summer in a row with excess rains, cold weather, and dying crops. So I hate to say it... but take your sun and shove it. (I will add a " ;) " here so I don't lose too many followers.)

In reality the real reason we have been braving the endless bridge-lifts and rush hour traffic in the city is for Toma's art. We have lined up a bunch of outdoor shows, and hangings in local establishments over the next few months. In addition to his photography the man has moved on to some very amazing paintings inspired by early edwardian era lithography. We have been venturing across the river to Quick Stop Photo (which also has an online shop here) to get prints of the paintings made. Also, no matter where you live I fully endorse Quick Stop, they do such amazing work and ship world wide. I am so completely impressed with the quality of the prints we have received.

In all of my free time (HA!) I have taken over Toma's Etsy Shop as well, where you can pick up the above three, and several other prints from the series. If you want to keep this blogger clothed and housed, you should help us spread the word. Add him to your circle or favorites if you like his work. I assure you we appreciate it greatly.
Alright, enough blathering on about that. I am off to work on my own etsy shop, and hopefully finish listing this daunting pile of dresses...

And the weather is one of the reasons we're seriously contemplating moving to Oregon! We're in Northern Colorado now and the heat is pretty bad.Not as bad as the east and midwest as we normally have no humidity. It is monsoon season here and I can't take it!

He does do rabbits. There are two rabbit characters In his shop. :)

And the weather here is fine, as long as you don't get seasonal depression from lack of sunlight. And no, I am not even remotely joking :/

If people take you telling them to shove it to heart they are to sensative... I like in St. Louis where at midnight last night is was still "f##king hot" (and yes that is the term for it!!) and it just made me laugh!! Wonder if they would let us trade weather for a while??!!

very nice prints. He is talented. I love your dress and am sorry you have had so much rain over there and dying crops. that is awful. I don't complain about weather because I figure it is going to be worse somewhere else. I am sure the people in Africa deal with the heat more than I could imagine. It was 103 degrees here yesterday, but I honestly didn't mind. I also don't mind when it is really cold here in the winters, but I laugh when I see people complaining about how hot it is but in the winter they can't wait for summer. Can't people be content and happy with what God gives them? So yeah. . again I adore your dress and think it is beautiful on you.
