EDIT: the Offer has fallen through on this house.... back to hunting..
I am sure you are all waiting to see the ranch I have been talking about. We got the call back, that our offer was likely accepted, we will find out more details tomorrow. So, barring and disasters with inspections or appraisals, this 1976 Ranch in a quaint suburb will be the new Metropolitan headquarters.
The kitchen is insanely tiny, so hopefully we can take our equity in a few years and expand it to a massive delightful kitchen. There is plenty of room to add on to this house, because it is sitting on a 1/4 acre of land. Which is great because we plan to raise chickens and start a garden. And yes, that awful Rhododendron will be gone the moment I move in. Yuck.

you will do this house up so cute! a little accent paint, some awesome landscaping, etc. and 1/4 acre, that's awesome!!!
HA! My boyfriend's mother would probably kill you for destroying that rhody. I, however, love you for it. Mostly because of her incessant droning of beloved rhodies. lol
It makes me sad to hear it has a tiny kitchen, but I know you'll do wonders with it.
Yes, I am sure you can make it wonderful!
Curious if you will be close to our house at all? That's funny about the rhododendron, we have a huge one consuming the front of our house and it looks so bad but Aaron likes it. But then again there is a lot about our house that looks bad. Our house is a huge project. Someday...and anyway projects can be fun, right?
It's not that bad from the outside... put up a picket fence, set up a porch and the outside will look lovely.
The amount of land is amazing!! You could build a new house on that!
courtney there are rhodies ALLLLLLLLL around this house. we need some stump grindin' thats for sure. I hate those damn things. hahaha
That house looks amazingly cute! You want to come over to Britain and see the nasties a lot of us live in!
I hope you're going to be very happy in your new place and get it just the way you like it
you'll do magical things with it,I know it's not what you wanted but you can work with it.
It is very cute, and has tons of potential! I'm sure when you are done putting your creative touches to it, it will be fab!
XO,
Syd
Congrats, it looks great!
This is so cute! I thought it was going to be iffy by the way you talked about it, but I like it :)
We got 1/4 acre too with our home and we also plan to do a garden and raise chickens! :)
Gorgeous!!!!!! Yay for you love the color cant wait to see what you guys do with the place.

Twila, dear, you would bloody despise my apartment complex then. It's a large complex, with rhodies everyewhere you turn!! AACK! I USED to like them.
http://usahomeandgarden.com/architecture/sears-homes/sears-homes.html that page had designs of los of old, charming houses. I'm sure you can take some little ideas from some of them and add them onto your home over time. I think raising the lower roof up to blend with the height of the rest of the roof would be good, along with adding attic window... pop-out.. i don't know the term for them. the window thing on this roof http://designholeonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/cute-little-house.png
except however you want it to look. And of course change the paint colour. Wow. Haha. I rambled.
A porch and a cute fence will do the trick in a pinch though :)
Good luck!
I think it has great potential ! Good luck !
