I did not win "the suit" and I am coming to terms with that.
It sold for more than I wanted to spend, although it was sold to someone who used a sniper to win at the last second. Which, I have always thought since the begining of "sniping" that it was cheating. But whatever, I lost the suit in the last 10 seconds.
Which brings me to EBAY. Lately, I have been highly discouraged of shopping on Ebay. The prices are a joke, and I am not the only one who notices. I mean, sure this is a recession, and sure we all need to make our money. But the "Buy it now" prices are ridiculous. $145 and higher for a plain cotton shirtwaist dress is insanity. It makes it hard to be a collector when people are so absurd with their pricing. Oh well.. I guess I am too poor to shop.
So for some nice calm easy retail therapy, I hit ETSY.com to check for some seamed stockings.
I recently demolished my favorite pair of seamed stockings, whilst mopping my store. I got nice and lucky and scored a 50s pair of seamed stockings in package, in my size (SHORT!!) for all of $7.
Stockings, how I adore you. Along with Hats, I really urge you to throw a pair of stockings on. It really completes the outfit and ads some sexy to your day, if thats what your into.

Awww. I'm sorry about the suit. I'm sure you'll find a nice one soon. Etsy sometimes has nice suits and the prices are way more reasonable there. Usually.
I'm with you on the prices on Ebay lately and some of the dresses with the BIN of $145 are SO not worth it! Plus in spite of the recession, I seem to get outbid a LOT!
I tell you what , I totally feel you on this. I think ebay is a Millionaires playground or something judging by what people are paying these days. For every 20 items I bid on, I win about 3. It's totally ridiculous. I had a similar rant on my blog a while back.
As for sniping, I think it should be stopped, as it's really underhand. I have lost tons this way.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....i totally get ya doll...a 60 year old farm dress sells for over 100$...and hold the phone if i find more than one at a time...help me! i have only found one steel of a deal in the past 4 years...those darn snipers...grrrrrr...cat
Ebay is totally not as fun as it used to be...especially since so many (seemingly better-off-than-I) people are now "into" mid-century stuff! Sorry about the suit. Bet you find another one though, in a surprising place, and for a lot less money! It does happen....
It sucks about the suit, but I'm glad you found some stockings! I've been searching both ebay and etsy, but I'm so cheap with stockings, I just need to come to termed that I'll be paying $10 for a seamed pair :)
So the expo goes to 6 instead of 7 like I told you, I double checked the card. What are you going to look for there?
