Ballad of a Bottle Blonde

My roots had taken a turn for the worse, and were approaching 3 inches of contrast coloring.
Last night, I decided to overhaul my not-so-lushious locks, by bleaching it to high heaven.
The result was, to say the least, yellow.
I had a bright goldenrod mop of curls all day today, and I cringed a bit every time I passed by a mirror.
Tonight's game plan consisted of BLUE SHAMPOO to correct the lemon-head I was sporting.
Pulling the towel off I sighed in relief, that my hair, is now one step closer to a clear white blonde.
Comedy of the night: a darling picture of my "mustard mane." Do enjoy. Please also take note of my out of control eyebrows! I am off to fix that right this instant! My Goodness.

I love your hair, so pretty. I would love to try blond but it doesn't suit my complexion sadly

OH! I love this haircut/style. I am this year living in 1955 and have cut my hair just below shoulder lenght and have short bangs and curl them in a late 40s' early 50s way to cooincide with my project. I am, though, come summer, chopping it and getting a shorter cut and this looks so good, even with the yellow hair! I am glad I found your blog.

Something that was recommended to me that I found most helpful was to get a bottle of Fanci-ful rinse in Platinum Minx (or some name close to that). I found that it really helped with the yellow. Be careful though... if you use it too much too often your hair will turn a bit grey from the color balance.

I've SO been there! Over the summer, actually, I found myself in a very similar situation. I fondly referred to myself as "Pineapple Head." The things we girls do to ourselves sometimes!
